Its About Time

I’m no big fan of losing daylight, shorter days, dark drives home from work, and scraping frost off my windshield in the morning but I am very ready to set the clocks back this weekend.
The way I see it, this last month or so is the most awkward and tortuous parts of the year because we wait too long to set the clocks back. Its too dark to be productive when you get home by the end of September but its also pitch black when you wake up (at least when I wake up). At least once we set the clocks back by an hour I can walk the dogs in the morning without a flashlight.
Another problem avoided is the headlight and sunglasses issue. When I go home from work tonight, I’ll be wearing my sunglasses. Halfway home though it will become a little do dark to use them. So, I’ll have to take the off. Then it will get dark enough to turn my headlights on but since my eyes have had plenty of time to adjust to the dim light, I won’t notice. Treachery. Of course the headlight problem could be solved by buying a car that doesn’t have a “K” as the first letter of its name.
So, I for one won’t be crying about the loss of daylight this weekend since I’ll be gaining it. Lets not forget about the fact that we gain an hour of sleep on Saturday night! Oh, sweet slumber. Somebody better warn the dogs that they are required to sleep that extra hour peacefully!
