My Little Spaz

My Little Spaz

Its always neat to see Aidan develop a new skill or a new interest. Lately though its funny too. He’s starting to get excited about new things. Much like his laughter which is a simple and unrestrained response to stimuli, when he gets excited, he spazs out like he’s having a little attack.

The series in the picture about is from about 20 seconds of him playing in his little exer-saucer. There are about 30 toys around the rim of this thing and he sits in the middle. Most of the time he just chills out there or spins himself around until he can see the tv (yup, my son) but sometimes he becomes aware of the toys and their possibilities. Its then that he straightens out his whole body, points his toes, shakes, and makes those faces. If I didn’t know any better I’d be sticking a belt in his mouth to keep him from biting off his tongue.

I’m also slightly concerned about what makes him laugh, anything dangerous. Funny faces, cute noises, and tickling make him smile but if you really want to make him laugh, you have to shake him, bounce him, or pretend to drop him. I predict a lot of emergency room visits in the future. His new found favorite is to be held as if he’s sitting on your chest while your standing and be bounced up and down. He doesn’t want to be lightly bounced though. No, the bouncing must be violent to the point where you ask yourself “Is this okay? Am I scrambling his little brain?” If you reach that level of ferocity with your bouncing, you will illicit squealing.

Who am I kidding though? I love it. Cheap laughs for daddy.

I read the first one fine.

I formally apologize to all English people. Spaz means something slightly different here just as shag is just a carpet here.
