Mommy’s Little Sleep Hater

Drooler

It never fails that just as you think you’ve begun to conquer something, it rears up and lets you know things won’t be quite that easy.

Aidan was finally getting into a bit of a pattern with his sleep. He was going down for a decent nap of an hour and a half or so in the mornings and cat napping through the afternoon. It seemed to be just enough to keep him going without being Mr. Cranky Pants. In fact, on Monday he slept so well during the day that he was positively delightful when I came home. Generally no matter how well he slept, by the time I get home he’s ready for dreamland.

I should have sensed the calm before the storm.

Yesterday MR. I-Don’t-Want-To-Miss-Anything took nothing but short (read:useless) cat naps all day long. By the time Jaime got him he was extremely unhappy and too tired to sleep. By the time I got home, Jaime had to be peeled off the ceiling. He went to sleep for me pretty quickly but woke up a few times more than usual during the night and slept fitfully after 2am.

My guess is that his audience was a little too much to sleep through yesterday. Pat’s grandchildren apparently love Aidan. When they come home from school they sit in a semi circle around him on the floor and do their homework. Its very cute. It would be cuter if they were all asleep when this happened.
