REM Wrecker
The good news is, Aidan is getting better. The hacking cough is better every day. The bad news is, that just isn't fast enough. Since he's been a little under the weather, he's had a lot of difficulty sleeping, especially during my shift.
Around 3 am the last few nights he's been completely unable to get back to sleep in his crib, even after a bottle. So, I've been keeping him in the bed. This means that between my wife sleeping in the "V" formation across the bed and Aidan spreading out on my pillow, I have to sleep in climbing gear so I don't fall off the side of the bed. You can imagine how soundly I sleep. It certainly doesn't help that he still has a hard time sleeping even in our bed so he tosses and turns a lot pummeling me with tiny fists and feet.
Jaime has graciously switched shifts with me tonight. I think when I tried to brush my teeth with hair gel on my razor she realized I probably need some better sleep. If he changes his routine and wakes up early, I'm throwing myself down the stairs.
