Aidans Annonymous
When I started this blog and began posting on a daily basis, I never imagined the monster I was creating. Sure, it was fun, harmless, a victimless crime to post on a daily basis. Who's getting hurt? Now that I'm not able to post with the frequency I onced enjoyed, I see the terrible err of my ways. I've created throngs, okay a few, hopelessly hooked Aidan Addicts.
I get pannicked calls and emails, frenzied requests, and grown adults, begging for more posts on Aidan. Alright, so my mom calle dand said some people were wondering when I was going to post more about Aidan but that was a boring lead in. It had to be jazzed up a bit.
Aidan is now five and a half months old. He is more fun now than he has ever been. He reacts to all of us in different ways now, he recognizes the people around him as soon as he lays eyes on them, and he flat out requests to be picked up.
He's also started saying Dada. Of course he has no idea what it means but he likes the sound of it enough that it makes him smile when I say it. However, he only says it when I'm not around!
The most fun thing is that he's interacting with everything around him. He's reaching for everything, trying desperately to get mobile, and playing with his toys. Today we took him out on errands and I decided to buy him some sunglasses. I'm a freak about my eyes and wear sunglasses whenever its bright enough to make me squint at all so , of course, my son has to be protected. He doesn't mind them as long as he's outside, as you can see from this picture, but once he's inside he appreciates them much more for their chew-ability. I'm a little disturbed by the fact that, in this picture, he look s more like an 80 year old grandmother playing shuffleboard in Miami than a baby boy but its cute all the same.
Tomorrow is father's day and we'll be heading to see my dad in Beverly. The weather is forecast to be warm so we may try to get Aidan his first beach trip. I can't wait to see his reaction to the water!
