Who had singer in the pool? It looks like our wee genius may be a little opera star.
Aidan was quite the pain for most of the weekend. We think he might actually be bothered by some allergies because, although he never had a fever, he was pretty cranky all weekend and had some breathing issues. He was starting to sound an awful like our pug at points.
One brief reprieve from the crankiness was church where he, remarkably enough, almost always puts on his best show. He rarely acts up unless he’s due a feeding and he’s always ready to give a stranger a smile. Most of that is due to the fact that he’s incredibly nosy but I’ll take what I can get.
Sunday he started a new trick. During one of the songs at mass, he became fascinated with the man seated behind me. This man is one of the regulars we see each week and has a habit of singing loudly and proudly. Aidan couldn’t take his eyes off of him and about halfway through the song; decided he wanted to sing too. The best part was, even though what he was singing was unintelligible, he was on key! I couldn’t believe it. He sang along in parts through the rest of the song. Of course, by the time the song was done, I was in tears laughing.
Every time a song began for the rest of mass, there was my little choirboy belting it out. He could care less about the instrumental songs; it’s the vocals he craves! This video shows him later in the day continuing his vocal practice. This kid won’t shut up sometimes, further proof that he is my son.
